Video therapy can be beneficial to a wide range of clients, including those living in remote locations, the elderly, military personnel, and individuals who are housebound due to physical or psychological reasons.
As long as the Public Health Agency of Sweden recommends us to work from home, I only offer therapy via video. This is to reduce the spread of Covid-19 disease. The coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 causes Covid-19 disease.
I have two options for video meetings, Zoom and Doxy.
Zoom – video meetings
I use Zoom for video meetings. It meets the demands for safty for health care meetings. It’s HIPAA-compliant (Health Insurance Portability and Accountibility Act).
Zoom is integrated in my health care journal system CTnotes. You can get started in three simple steps:
- If you use your computer register a free account at zoom.us If you use your Ipone download the app “Zoom Cloud Meetings” and register a free account.
- When we make our first appointment I will send you an e-mail with a link to my System for Electronic Medical Records – CTnotes. You need to login within seven days after you recievd tha e-mail.
- At the time for your appointment, you login to CTnotes. Click the button with an icon for video with the text in swedish “Anslut till samtal”. (Connect to video meeting)
Doxy – a safe system for video theraphy
Doxy is similar to Skype, but is made for calls that require great security. At the same time, it is easy for you as a user. You do not need to download anything. All you need is an internet connection. I’ll send a link to a digital waiting room. At the scheduled time, I’ll start the session.
All data is encrypted, your sessions are anonymous, and none of your information is stored. Doxy adhere to HIPAA, PIPEDA, and GDPR data privacy requirements.
Among the users, for example, hospitals, psychotherapy clinics and universities. According to HIPAA, the system must constantly undergo risk analysis and development, which means that the system is under constant review and evaluation.

Zoom is also a program for video meetings, but since Zoom has been critizised for security issues. Until they have solved these issues, I only use Doxy.
